THE MONTH’S USEFUL SIGNAL
About one in five active local listings showed a price cut.
8 of 41 active pages—19.5%—had a latest recorded asking-price reduction dated October 1–30. That is a shortlist worth investigating. It is not evidence that every Lake Travis boat lost value.
The median of those eight latest cuts was $1,000. Start with the specific boat, its condition and its asking history, rather than a general “fall bargain” story. Explore the local report ↗

ASKING PRICES & PRICE CHANGES
A market with more than one price.
The median active ask in our local sample was $16,500. But a single middle number hides different kinds of boats, ages and condition.

Three asking-price moves to learn from
| Boat / sample | Previous ask | Cutoff ask | Latest cut |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2015 EdgeWater 188CCLake Travis / nearby · recorded 2026-10-17 | $22,495 | $19,995 | $2,50011.1% |
| 2015 Harris Flotebote 240 CruiserLake Travis / nearby · recorded 2026-10-13 | $27,500 | $25,000 | $2,5009.1% |
| 2001 Sea Ray Sundancer 260Wider Austin-area example · recorded 2026-10-29 | $40,000 | $30,000 | $10,00025% |
Read the percentage, too.
Both local examples fell $2,500: 11.1% for the EdgeWater, 9.1% for the Harris. Both remained advertised at the cutoff. Compare the percentage, earlier ask and documented condition together.
Takeaway: Compare model, year, size and condition before interpreting any asking-price reduction.
SOLD, STILL ADVERTISED & OFF MARKET
The outcome needs its own evidence.
By the cutoff, Topjib retained 43 seller-reported Sold pages in the wider Austin-area sample; 4 belonged to our Lake Travis and nearby-town sample.
| Local / nearby-town example | Last asking price | Sold status observed |
|---|---|---|
| 2023 Tige Z3 | $109,000 | 2026-10-27 |
| 2015 Phoenix 819 Pro XP | $24,000 | 2026-10-30 |
The Phoenix had an observed ask of $28,500, then $24,000 on October 27, before its Sold status was observed October 30. The sequence is useful; it does not tell us the closing price or prove the reduction caused a sale. Read the retained Sold records ↗
| Local / nearby-town example | Last asking price | Off Market observed |
|---|---|---|
| 2012 Cobalt A28 | $72,500 | 2026-10-19 |
| 2019 Barletta L23QCSS | $65,000 | 2026-10-29 |
What had not reached a recorded sale?
41 local pages remained advertised, including the reduced EdgeWater and Harris on page 2. Separately, an off-market ad can have been withdrawn, relisted or sold without a confirmed status update. Calling every disappearance “didn’t sell” would overstate the evidence.
Takeaway: Keep asking-price evidence, seller-reported status and confirmed transaction records separate. This issue does not calculate a market sell-through rate, time to sale or closing-price trend.
THE NOVEMBER PLAYBOOK
Better questions. Better boat decisions.
FOR BUYERS
Build a useful shortlist.
- Compare like with like. Match model, year, size and condition before negotiating from a broad market number.
- Check the whole package. Ask for current condition, engine hours, service records and clear trailer/title facts.
- Verify the details. Check identifiers against the boat and paperwork; confirm any slip or storage arrangement directly.
FOR SELLERS
Make your offer easy to assess.
- Show what matters. Clear current photos and documented condition help a buyer decide what to investigate.
- Explain your ask. Use comparable boats and a dated price history. Describe known issues and what is included.
- Keep status current. Update availability and confirm marina terms before advertising a transferable slip.
FOR DEALERS & BROKERS
Make the evidence your advantage.
- Qualify before pitching. Verify the owner wants help and ask about current representation.
- Bring a specific plan. Explain comparable asks, condition gaps, presentation and a review schedule.
- Close the reporting loop. With permission, retain dated outcomes and separate actual closings from last asking prices.
Keep the lake in the plan. Before launching or making a slip-dependent purchase, review the current lake/ramp resources on our Lake Travis guide and confirm access, storage and services with the marina operator. Static listing details are not live access conditions.

Sources & how to read this issue
Figures are frozen at October 30, 2026. Local scope combines seller-reported Lake Travis locations with nearby advertised towns; broader figures are labeled Austin-area. Latest cuts count one downward change per active listing, dated October 1–30. Retained Sold/Off Market counts describe status at the cutoff, not all regional October transactions. Asking prices are not verified closing prices. October 31 and a comparable prior-month series are not included.
